A House Update

Dragons event

On the first of March, Dragons held their Pottery/Sculpting competition. It was as competitive as any other event, with a winning mentality engrained in each House. Phoenix sculpted the whole body of a phoenix that matches their mentality. With its wide mighty wings, it is as if the sculpture was ready to soar anytime to reach the great beyond, fitting as Phoenix want nothing else but to reach the top. Unicorns sculpted the whole head of a unicorn. Focusing on quality over quantity, they ended up with a sculpture with an amazing design. Finally, Dragons ended up sculpting an entire Chinese dragon with incredible detail. All the sculptures were impressive in their own right, but in the end, Dragons won their own event and received well-earned house points.

Unicorns event

The Unicorns House organized a scavenger hunt for Classes 1-12 in the week of 18-22 March. We started out by making a planning committee that would organize the “play” and setup of the event.  A team of 6 people from classes 9-11 organized how the event would play out and what needed to be done to get to the event. They did amazingly well as it was a perfectly organized event, with a lot of creativity and imagination put into the work.

The event itself was a great success. On Tuesday primary had their event, where each team was full of fighting spirit and energy. It was a very close competition with only seconds difference between the Phoenix and Unicorns Houses, but in the end the Unicorns came out victorious. It was a very close event and we were happy to see the enthusiasm of the future generations of our Houses.

On Friday the Secondary participants took part in the event. They were just as enthusiastic, rushing to find the next clue and then the next one. Again, it was a close call as there were two contenders to win, Dragons as they reached the end first, and Phoenix because they had reached the end and found all the clues. In the end we had to give the win to Phoenix as they found all the clues which Dragons didn’t.
