Animation Music in Secondary

In music, Class 8 are learning how to musicalise animation films! This week, we looked at a very old Disney clip from the late 1920s called Skeleton Dance. Back in those days there were no computers, so all the music and special effect sounds had to be done purely on instruments.

Class 8 had to watch the video, analyse the music and recreate it on instruments following a music score. The challenge was not only to learn how to play the music but also to play it in time with the film!
Later on in the term, they will be given a short animation clip and will have to compose the music themselves and perform it. We look forward to seeing the result of this project!
