International School of Belgium is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Information Systems Manager & Administrator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our ICT systems and integrating the values of our school’s guiding statements into all aspects of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- School Timetable Management:
- Collaborate with the Director, unit heads, and coordinators to develop the school-wide timetable, ensuring readiness by the start of the new school year.
- Clearly include room allocations and produce teacher timetables accordingly.
- Database Maintenance:
- Maintain and update the school information system database (“ENGAGE”), including staff, student, parent, and medical information.
- Implement system changes such as report templates and other necessary updates.
- Digital File Management:
- Maintain school servers and assist in organizing and securing confidential internal information systems (e.g., curriculum mapping docs, schemes of work, timetables).
- Hardware & Software Maintenance:
- Act as the first point of contact for all ICT troubleshooting issues.
- Evaluate user needs and ensure ICT facilities meet these requirements.
- Plan, develop, and implement the ICT budget in coordination with the Business Manager.
- Schedule upgrades and security backups for hardware and software systems.
- Ensure the smooth operation of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services, and email provision.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing laws and secure data from internal and external threats.
- Technical Support:
- Provide appropriate support and advice to users.
- Manage crisis situations involving complex technical hardware or software problems.
- Mentor and train new staff on the use of school systems.
- Assist in formulating the school’s Internet and ICT Equipment Acceptable Use Policy.
- Ensure Chromebooks are set up for student use and troubleshoot any issues.
- Perform regular checks on student Chromebooks.
- Google Suite Management:
- Maintain and update the Google Suite and school email accounts for both students and staff.
- Allocate students and staff to Google Classroom groups.
- Update licenses annually.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in ICT management, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of database management and digital file organization.
- Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software systems.
- Experience with Google Suite management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to mentor and train staff on ICT systems.
- Familiarity with software licensing laws and data security practices.
