Primary Newsletter 18/10/2024
Dear Parents and Carers,
The excitement is building for our Halloween celebrations next week. The house captains are planning to wrap some teachers as mummies on Tuesday 22nd October and on Friday the 25th everyone is invited to come dressed up in their Halloween finest!
Last Friday Class 4 presented to the rest of the classes in Assembly. The students had prepared the script themselves and even written a song. The title of their unit was ‘Space Scientists’ and they shared lots of fun facts and experiments. The song was very catchy and a lot of us found ourselves joining in. It was a great assembly. Well done Class 4!
Today it was Class 1’s turn to do the assembly. It was based on their unit ‘Superhumans’. The children told us all about our marvellous bodies and how they work. They knew their lines very well and sang ‘The Skeleton Song’ with great enthusiasm. Thank you class 1 for the lovely performance.
The teachers day celebrations went well in school. Thank you to those children who brought in cards and gifts and showed appreciation for their teachers. The school laid on a very nice teachers lunch and the student council served it up for them. It was a great way to celebrate a special day for the teachers.
Early Years had their outing to Rollebolle last week and really enjoyed the different equipment and activities that they took part in. It is quite an adventure for our young children, mixing with students from other schools and being in a very large gym. They really get to stretch their physical gross motor skills.
We have completed the first two Olympiad competitions. As always our students have applied themselves very well and we look forward to getting their results in the new year. We just have the Maths one to go this month and the final computer one in January 2025. We are still accepting entries for the computer science Olympiad.
Friday 25th October we break up for a week’s half term holiday and return to school on Monday the 4th November.
I wish you a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead.
