STUDENT LEADERSHIP
There are multiple opportunities for student leadership at ISBe: through the house system, class tutor responsibilities, school events and the Student Council.
Student Council provides students with an opportunity to be involved in the school community beyond their responsibilities as a student in the classroom. It allows students to collaborate with Council members from across a range of grade levels from class 3 to 12 where they are working together for the benefit of the school and it’s students. Students undergo a rigorous process to become part of the Student Council team that includes nomination, interviews, speeches and voting.
All Student Council members commit to a series of responsibilities:
- To be a strong ambassador who promotes, hosts, guides others while showing pride for my school.
- Act as a mentor and role model for other students by demonstrating kindness, respect, compassion and acceptance of difference.
- Assist and lead the organisation of school wide events that encourage school pride and provide positive, fun learning experiences.
- Advocate for school improvements from a student perspective while being solutions focused and suggest ways to improve and extend school practices and processes.
- Work together with my fellow Student Councillors.
