The Primary Section Stories – 28/04/2023

We hope you enjoyed the Easter holidays and the recent bank holiday. There was a little sunshine to help make the days enjoyable.

Class 2 and 3 were able to visit the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra for a workshop and the opportunity to listen to the Orchestra play. The workshop leader was impressed by both classes’ knowledge of instruments and the instrument families. Ms Nichols took a day out of her maternity leave to join us. The students were blown away by the orchestra playing and I hope it was an experience they will hold with them.

We were able to celebrate Earth Day in school with an assembly and a performance by the EY Foundation class. If our 5 year olds can understand how to look after our planet then the rest of us should be able to as well. I think they made a big impression on the whole of Primary and I am sure all of our students will grow up to be responsible citizens. PLease encourage your children when they have ‘green’ ideas.

The Unicorns event asked our students to be like statues for their break. As you can imagine this was tricky for one or two of our students but all of the houses took part and our students did a good job.

We have a new intern in school. Ms Mayda is from French Guiana and is working with our older classes. We hope she enjoys her time with us and learns a lot.

Last week we were able to celebrate the end of Ramadan, Eid al Fitr, by enjoying some special treats brought to us by some of our families. They were very tasty and a great way to gain some further insight into others traditions and celebrations.

This Wednesday is the class 5 transition parents evening. I believe all class 5 parents have been sent the link.

Saturday 13th May is our International Day for everyone to come to. It will be running from 1pm until 4pm.

In the meantime have a great week.
