The Secondary Section Stories – 12/02

Welcome to the last week of school before the mid-term holiday. We have now finished the official ISA diagnostic tests. Students commented how they preferred the online testing format rather than paper and it even made them less stressed and more confident which we were glad to hear.

Secondary students have been working online this week and the school seems so different without them here. The exception of course is class 10 who have been on site at different times to sit their IGCSE mock exams. These exams provide a good baseline of data about what we need to review, reinforce or develop before the official exams which start in late April.

A few fun events have taken place in the last few weeks including the cube competition and the science fair videos were posted for middle school parents. I also met with class 5 students to kick off their transition program into class 6 for next year. Mr Johnson and I are also looking forward to meeting with class 10 parents individually the first week back after the holidays to finalise subject selection and IB pathways for students. Please remember to book an appointment via the link that was sent asap.

March promises to be a good month after the holidays with lots of events including:

March 4 – Virtual University Fair for C9&10 @ 3-6pm and ISBe Virtual Careers panel for C8-10 6pm,

March 11 – C5 parent transition workshop,

March 15 – 19 – Inter-house speech competition and Literacy week.

Have a fantastic break next week and keep safe and healthy!!!
