The Secondary Section Stories – 12/11

Since returning from mid-term break, staff and students seem revitalized now to take on all the challenges and adventures in last half of the term before Christmas.

I am sure you saw the postings from our students on their trip to the Schools World Cup Football tournament in Spain at the end of half term. You can enjoy a selection of shots from a great trip. I am proud to say that our students were motivated, positive and embraced the learning opportunities they were afforded. They were respectful and represented their school with pride, many other coaches commented on their excellent behaviour and support of each other. Our boys team place 3rd in their division – an amazing result. Thanks to Mr Ruben & Mr Gabor for their coaching prowess, Mr Sunil for logistical support and for the families who gave us such a fabulous welcome back at the airport.

We are heading into assessment season, as students finish up projects and units of work. Students need to arrange an appropriate study/ assignment schedule to minimise their stress and manage their time. Middle school students C6-8 will do some block exams on Monday 6 – Wednesday 8 December to practice assessments in a more formal setting. Term 1 reports will be sent home on December 16.

The students enjoyed the ceremonies this week for Diwali celebrations and Armistice Day, and over the next five weeks we also have a lot of activities to look forward to: House pride day, a hoops competition, the Talent Show, Quiz competition, Academic Challenge Day, School Drama Production, Music performances and Christmas dress-up & activities.

Here are some other important upcoming events to remember:
