The Secondary Section Stories – 17/02/2023

It has been a busy lead up to the half term in the academic arena. We finished the ISA testing for class 3-9 and look forward to getting this data back in April. Middle schoolers have been planning and presenting their exit points for IMYC. Space ship control panels were on display today, complete with constellations, lots of levers and that big RED BUTTON. Others were infested with alien slim and viruses and the much needed splat guns on hand, just in case!!.

Class 10 and 12 completed two weeks of mock exams in preparation for the end of course finals that start in April. It not only provides the opportunity to practice exam protocols in a timed environment but also use effective study habits.

Our student council arranged red roses for Valentines Day and students and staff sent out over 200 roses to people who matter to them.

Class 11 organised their group project as part of their CAS (Creativity/Action/Service) program on the last afternoon of school for class 5-9. Students were randomly divided into 10 teams and had to participate in a range of team challenges including a dance off, paper plane throwing, creating a dessert, a fitness challenge and drawing Mr Kiernan- A fun way to end the half term as students head off on a week’s vacation.

I wish everyone a relaxing week away and hope those people who have been unwell lately, take the time to recover.
