The Secondary Section Stories – 23/10

The last few weeks have been busy and productive in secondary. The students were pleased to hear they would be staying onsite for lessons despite the recent escalation of restrictions generally.
If you haven’t viewed it yet, put it on your ‘to do list’ and check the fantastic body percussion flash mob by middle school students. It is a good insight as to how engaged our students are in the music at the moment and a credit of our new music teacher, Ms Nichols.

Our students also had the opportunity to showcase what they have been doing in language classes: English, Dutch, French and Music at the recent coffee meetings. I enjoyed seeing some of the activities they are doing and was proud of their growing confidence for public presentations.

This week we have had virtual check-ins with parents to provide just a small snapshot of how students have settled into school this year. I hope you were able to connect with one of your child’s tutors to get a brief overview of their initial progress across a few subjects.

We are only one week out from a break now, with Friday 30 October being the last day before mid-term holiday. We will celebrate this day in true Halloween spirit where both students and staff are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.

Even though you can’t travel far, I hope you break is relaxing and enjoyable,

Karen Relf
