The Secondary Section Stories – 29/01

Students from class 3-9 have been busy this week doing trial testing for the ISAs. The official tests happen Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday next week but the trials allow them to become familiar with the format, answer practice questions and follow the online structure. Results will be available to the school in April and we will share relevant data with students and parents.

Our class 10 students will start mock exams next week and this is the beginning of the lead up period for them to the official exams in May/June. After the mocks, there will be a review of their results, a chance to do multiple past papers and the opportunity for revision of more challenging concepts. This way the students will be totally prepared for the final exams which they can approach with competence and confidence.

We had planned a secondary coffee meeting for parents the week before the half term break to showcase student work. Unfortunately as per government recommendations, the secondary school students will now do virtual learning during this week. Another date will be scheduled before the end of term 2. Please note that during this week, primary students will still be on site and class 10 students will come to school only to do mock exams. More information will be provided to them directly.

Events to look forward to include the Inter-house speech competition, Literacy week with a whole host of class activities, our MUN internal conference, the Duke of Edinburgh students will be hiking and we will start a series of virtual career panels for students and parents.

Keep safe and healthy
