The Secondary Section Stories – 04/04/2025
To our valued parents and ISBe community members,
As the days grow longer and the beauty of spring graces our school building, there is a renewed sense of energy and anticipation in the air. The past few weeks at ISBe have been filled with meaningful learning, celebration, and memorable milestones for our students and staff.
We recently marked a significant moment as our Class 12 students concluded their final school day before heading into their IBDP examinations. The day was filled with a mixture of joy and nostalgia, highlighted by a spirited series of harmless pranks that brought laughter and camaraderie throughout the school. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers who have guided and supported these students throughout their academic journey. We wish our graduating class the very best as they embark on their exams and the exciting journeys ahead.
Similarly, our Class 10 students are now preparing for their IGCSE examinations. We commend them for their dedication and focus, and we wish them every success in the coming weeks.
March was also marked by the I.I.M.U.N. (India’s International Movement to Unite Nations) conference, a remarkable experience for our participating students. The opening ceremony, held in the prestigious European Parliament, set the tone for an inspiring event. We are proud to share that ISBe was awarded ‘Best Delegation’, and we received enthusiastic messages from other schools praising the quality of our hosting and the conduct of our students. It was truly a moment of pride for our school community.
In the spirit of competition and fun, some Secondary students took part in our Sports Monday event—a day filled with athletic challenges that showcased not only physical ability but also sportsmanship and team spirit.
On March 29th, a group of students from Classes 6, 7, and 8, accompanied by Ms. Daniela, participated in a mathematics competition co-organised by Antwerp International School and St. John’s International School. The event challenged students with a series of engaging mathematical problems, encouraging teamwork, creative thinking, and critical analysis. It also served as a platform for students to connect with peers from other international schools, enriching their academic and social experiences. We look forward to taking part in similar events in the future.
Another proud highlight was the recent IB Art Exhibition. Our students showcased powerful and deeply personal artwork, many of which paid tribute to their home countries. The exhibition was a vibrant celebration of identity, creativity, and the arts, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
Our E-sports competition, organised by the Student Council, was also a great success. The enthusiasm and participation from students across year levels were fantastic, and we are pleased to share that the finals will take place after the Easter holiday.
We would also like to thank you for supporting your children during the recent Student-Led Conferences. Your engagement plays an essential role in their learning journey.
Wishing you a restful and joyful Easter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 22nd April.
Warm regards,
Tala Issa
