Job Description

The International School of Belgium (ISBe), a prestigious international school based near Antwerp, is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced full-time teacher of IBDP Mathematics, IGCSE International Mathematics, and IGCSE Additional Mathematics, commencing August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in IBDP Mathematics, IGCSE International Mathematics, and IGCSE Additional Mathematics.
  • Foster mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, inquiry, and analytical skills in students.
  • Be an excellent team player within the Secondary Department and across the school, contributing to the ongoing development of both the department and the wider school community.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and educational trips as appropriate.
  • Prepare students for external examinations and assessments.
  • Mark and standardise assessments in accordance with Cambridge and IB
    requirements.
  • Support students with Internal Assessments and Extended Essays where applicable.
  • Develop, share, and review curriculum resources and schemes of work.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to international-mindedness and intercultural understanding.

Qualities

  • Demonstrates exemplary teaching practice and a commitment to high academic standards.
  • Experience teaching IBDP Mathematics, IGCSE International Mathematics, and/or IGCSE Additional Mathematics.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical inquiry, conceptual learning, and effective preparation for external examinations.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Flexible, energetic, and collaborative.
  • Able to motivate students and help them achieve their maximum potential.
  • Skilled in integrating technology, graphing tools, and digital resources into teaching and learning.
  • International school experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Qualified teacher with relevant teaching credentials.
  • Passionate about education and lifelong learning.
