The Secondary Section Stories 13/10/2023

The Secondary Section Stories 13/10/2023

To our valued parents and ISBe community members,

In our secondary school, both middle school and senior school students are fully immersed in their academic pursuits, diligently studying various subjects while also savouring the enjoyable aspects of school life.

Last week, we marked International Teachers Day by giving students the opportunity to express their gratitude and convey their thanks to our exceptional teaching team. Students penned their heartfelt messages of appreciation on personalised cards and also created a creative video, which was then shared with our staff. To make the day even more special, a delightful lunch and delicious cakes were provided. The event was impeccably organised and served by some of our enthusiastic student council representatives from Class 5 and the middle school.

On Wednesday ,we celebrated our first Pride Day of the year, where students and staff came together in the spirit of unity, healthy competition, and camaraderie. This event fosters a sense of belonging, promotes teamwork, and instils a strong sense of community. Participants dressed up in their house colours and our main focus was from them to be creating a new House chant, emphasising creativity and the volume at which the House would proudly belt it out. House Pride Days are not just colourful celebrations; they are an integral part of our institution’s culture, shaping character and building lasting traditions.

The National Science Olympiad is scheduled for December 5th, 2023, while the International Maths Olympiad will take place on November 30th, 2022. These contests are available to students in the 3rd grade and above and require a fee of €10 per exam. To enrol your child, please ensure you fill out the Student Consent Form and submit the payment in a sealed envelope with your child’s name. For the science test, we must receive your form and payment by October 25th, 2023, and for the math exam, by October 17th, 2023.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to welcoming the students back on Monday.
