Christmas Show Preparations

In music, we have been busy, busy, busy, preparing for the Christmas show! Each class is performing a song. The students are learning to sing it and play it on instruments. Class 4 and 5 have been learning how to read notes and follow a music score and play as an ensemble. The challenging part of this process is that they are learning to play different voices at the same time. One group plays the bass part (the lowest sounding part of the music), another group plays the alto (middle range) and a third group plays the melody, or the soprano part.

Secondary students have also been learning to play songs on various instruments. They have been learning about chords and music theory and understanding how songs are structured. This year, we also have the CCP school band! They will be giving their first ever performance during the CCP drama show in the last week of school.
