Class 2 – Amazing Term 1

We have been so excited to be back on the school site after the online learning experience. Although we learnt a lot during the online learning, being on school grounds, in our new classroom and within our own bubble makes everything more exciting. The students have more opportunity to grow and learn while surrounded by their peers and teachers.

In the last few months class 2 have learnt about how our brain works and how we can improve our learning. We are now learning about different materials and their properties in our new IPC unit “Material World” but by far the most exciting part for us was the IPC unit “Footprints from the past” with a focus on dinosaurs and their extinction.

Class 2 was lucky to be able to visit the National History Science Museum in Brussels right before all the trips were canceled. We had an amazing time over there and the students got to see real fossils and real sized dinosaur bones along with an English speaking tour of the dinosaur exhibition.

As a teacher, I was pleased and proud when the museum’s guide expressed her amazement as Class 2 showed so much knowledge and understanding about the dinosaurs. They were so enthusiastic and eager to answer questions and were genuinely interested in everything they saw.

As an International school, we are aware of different celebrations and events from all over the world. So far we’ve enjoyed celebrating Halloween, Diwali traditions and the Armistice day and now we are looking forward with excitement to Thanksgiving and the Christmas Celebrations, learning more about acceptance, unity, different cultures and having fun learning!
