Class 5 Update
A truly out-of-this-world experience!
Just before the winter break, students of Class 5 participated in Junior Astronaut Training at the Euro Space Centre, and we couldn’t be prouder of their courage and enthusiasm as they tackled various space-themed challenges. Here are some of the incredible activities they experienced:
- Moonwalk XP: Students got a taste of lunar exploration with a special chair on springs that simulated walking on the Moon by reducing their weight to 1/6th of what it is on Earth.
- Multi-Axis Unit: This spinning chair recreated the disorientation astronauts might feel inside a spaceship when rotational axes are not controlled. It was an exciting lesson in resilience!
- Rotating Chair: Designed to spin on a single axis, this activity gave students an understanding of vertigo and balance coordination, followed by insights into how astronauts recover and maintain balance in space.
- Space Rotor: In this thrilling centrifuge-like activity, students tested their ability to withstand gravitational forces, just like astronauts preparing for a mission.
- Freefall Slide: Jumping and experiencing moments of weightlessness gave everyone a taste of zero gravity and lots of laughter!
To top it all off, the young astronauts built their own rockets, which were successfully launched in the forest. Their creativity and teamwork were truly impressive.
This immersive experience not only gave the students a glimpse into the world of astronauts but also inspired curiosity, teamwork, and courage. It was a memorable adventure, and we are grateful for the opportunity to see their excitement and learning firsthand.
