Class 6 settling into Middle School

Class 6 settling into Middle School

The year is off to a robust beginning as everyone re-establishes their productive routines and seizes the available opportunities. Now, let’s explore what they’ve been busy with recently.

What a fantastic start to the new school year for class 6! On their first day in middle school, you could see the nervousness, but also a little bit of excitement. It changed rather quickly when we had our first PSHE lesson, all about the expectations in middle school. Each subject has its own room now, so we walked around the school to show them the different classrooms. It helped them to feel more at ease. At the end of the lesson, we had a great time playing the game ‘Would you rather?’ They were very excited to think of their own choices and it was interesting listening to all their opinions! We are proud of this current year group and we are confident that they will accomplish a lot this year. We cannot wait to get to know everyone better!

As the new school year dawns, the corridors of class 7 and 8 are buzzing with anticipation. It’s clear that the middle schoolers have grown over the vacation. The year ahead is filled with opportunities for personal growth and development. Class 7 and 8 students have the chance to build a strong foundation for their future education while enjoying the present moment. Eighth grade is a remarkable milestone for these students. As they entered middle school, they were like eager explorers, full of youthful energy and curiosity, ready to embark on their academic journey. Now, they find themselves on the cusp of completing their final year in middle school, standing at the threshold of new challenges and adventures that await them.

Our high school students have been immersed in a whirlwind of activities right from the get-go, whether they’re embarking on a new academic programme or entering their final year, a phase laden with exams and challenges. Balancing the demands of programs like IGCSE and IBDP requires unwavering commitment and hard work. However, we also recognize the vital need for students, spanning all four grade levels, to strike a harmonious equilibrium between their academic pursuits and other interests.

We wholeheartedly promote a holistic education for their students, fostering their growth not only in academics but also through active participation in a multitude of avenues. Whether it’s their engagement in the arts, spirited involvement in sports, dynamic roles within the student council, adventurous experiences with the Duke of Edinburgh programme, or spirited participation in their house events, they believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel in various facets of life.

Class 10-12 students were particularly busy with their Duke of Edinburgh expedition this weekend, and exciting pictures will follow in their next newsletter to show what they were up to! Additionally, during this time, students in the secondary school were also nominating themselves for house captains and student council positions, further showcasing their engagement and commitment to various aspects of school life.

Have a nice weekend everyone and we are excited to see the students on Monday.

Very best wishes,
