Early Years’ End of Year Trip

By Miss. Irina.

What an amazing year we had! Therefore, for our trip, we have chosen an incredible destination: Het Karrewiel! This is a petting zoo in Grobbendonk, a place both educational and fun. We really enjoyed the pony and train rides, petting the soft rabbits and guinea pigs, looking at the peacock, doves and other exotic birds. While feeding the animals, we learned about the food they eat: lots of grains for the ducks, chickens and geese, delicious carrots for the goats and donkeys. Be careful, though, they might pinch your fingers! And did you know that pigs love a mud bath? You know what they say: “as happy as a pig in mud”. Well, they need this in order to cool their body temperatures! We also saw cows and some funny looking sheep, since they did not have their thick fur any more. But most of all, the children had a blast riding the tractor and ponies and going twice on the swing carousel. Now that was FANTASTIC!
