Dear Parents and ISBe Community Members,
It is a pleasure to introduce myself as the substitute teacher covering Pauline Kimman’s maternity leave. My name is Fabio Cruz, and I bring over 15 years of experience in education, having worked for 11 years at the International School of Curitiba in Brazil. This year, I moved to Belgium with my wife Cecília, who was transferred here by Volvo, and I am thrilled to join this wonderful school community.
Throughout my career, I have taught IB History, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Brazilian Social Studies, and supported students in completing their Extended Essays. My academic background is in History, and I recently completed my Ph.D. in Law. In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Outstanding Educator Award from the University of Chicago, a recognition that underscores my dedication to high-quality education.
During my time here, I look forward to working with your children in History (Class 9), Global Perspectives (Class 9 and 10), and IB Global Politics (Class 11 and 12). My goal is to encourage critical thinking, global awareness, and an enthusiasm for learning, all within a supportive and engaging environment.
