Friday Kahlo’s Legacy
As part of our IPC unit: People of the Past, Class 1 has been learning about the life and contributions of artist Frida Kahlo.The students learnt about perseverance and how we must look for hope even in the darkest of times. We also spoke about how her art acted as a tool for expression. We discussed how we should not be afraid or embarrassed to express our feelings & emotions. We looked at her paintings, which were mostly self-portraits. The students learnt how to make their self-portrait through a guided step by step drawing lesson.
