Play Scripts and Folktales: A Match Made in Heaven for Class 4

Class 4 has been learning all about Folktales during our Fiction unit in Language Arts. We also recently finished learning about play scripts, so what better way to celebrate our new knowledge of both units than to perform some skits!

We have enjoyed reading many different types of folktales. Maybe you’ve heard of them! We’ve read fables, myths, legends, and traditional tales together and learned how to write our own by using the correct components like monsters, talking animals, outdoor settings, and more! Check out some stories below. Students didn’t want to be done with writing in just one day from this Big Write, so they will be finishing them next week.

Also, check out this video of one group performing a play script of Alice in Wonderland! The entire class did a fantastic job collaborating with each other over the past few weeks, sometimes even virtually. I’m proud of the resiliency these students have shown, as we plan to finally have the other groups perform next week!

Thanks for reading!
