Primary Drama- When Is a Cone Not A Cone and Other News

With many  classes not possible earlier last year due to Covid, the students of class 4 and 5 returned to school last term with renewed enthusiasm to express themselves through drama. Classes have focused on group improvisation, interpretation of poetry and drama games to encourage teamwork and concentration. This enthusiasm has continued into January and in the first exercise after the December break, the students were given the challenge of creating a short scenario around a given object; in this case a humble cone which could be used as anything… except as a cone. With imaginations stimulated the students set to work…
Several students from classes 4 and 5 also participate in Drama CCP. Unfortunately the annual December show ‘It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad Play’ could not go ahead. To ensure that all their efforts were not wasted, however, the intention is to record the play and make a version possible online in the coming weeks. In the meantime, fingers crossed that the June show will go on with CCP rehearsals starting this month and will include performances from all the Primary classes.
