SFWC Marbella 2023

SFWC Marbella 2023

The Schools Football Word Cup 2023 promised to be a very good edition.
With teams coming from Latvia, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, France, Kurdistan, Ireland & Belgium it was the most visited tournament so far.
The ISBe Lions were staying in the cosy BlueBay Banus Hotel again.
With blue skies, a shining sun and great football facilities, everything was set for our ISBe Lions to have a terrific tournament.
Both our teams started off the tournament very well with a draw and a win.
Over the next two days both our teams played some great games.

On the final day the boys won their fantastic last game against a school from Spain with an incredible winner at the end of the game, 2-1.
The girls had to play the big final against a school from Italy.
It was a very exciting, nerve-wracking game with a terrific, deserved win for our ISBe Lions in, 1-0.
What a tremendous performance!

During the award ceremony 3 players were also recognized individually.

Isabelle won the leadership & spirit award.
Ksenija won the best goalie award.
Joshua became second in the precision shooting competition.

Besides playing football all our Lions also helped in an environmentally friendly activity cleaning the local beach from plastic and litter.
Throughout the whole trip our students showed an amazing attitude, team spirit, resilience & respect which was really admirable.

What a very successful event again!

Go ISBe Lions!
