The Beginning of Class 5

Class 5 had a great start to this school year. They have embarked on a few big projects already! In English lessons, they went through the classic novel ‘The Secret Garden’ and investigated how characters change throughout the story and about the relationship between location and well-being. We also had a guest reader, Mr Johnson!

During the IPC lessons, students adventured into Space, with our brand new unit ‘Mission to Mars’.  After researching the geographical features of Mars, students considered what would be the next step in human evolution. Could humans, if they needed to, find a new home in our solar system? Mars could be the answer. After some more investigations, students encountered a new question: Who governs space? So they did even more research and discussed The Outer Space Treaty (UNOOSA) which is based on the principle that space belongs to mankind and not one individual or country.

In Maths, students revised number sense and with the help of the Clevertouch boards, Maths lessons are one of the student’s favourite activities. Whether a student is a visual learner, an auditory learner or a hands-on learner, an interactive board benefits them all.
