The Primary Section Stories – 01/12/2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

I was lucky enough to go on the class  residential trip last week and had a wonderful time. Ms G will let you know all about it before the end of the school year.

On Wednesday 22nd of November our Primary students had a fantastic treat when Mr Aldo Aranda, our secondary music teacher performed two concerts for the students. He is a percussion specialist and has worked with many orchestras around the world as well as his individual performances. The students were entranced as he used a whole range of items to create music and rhythm. He told stories through sound and responded to a computer text with music. It was fascinating. Thank you Mr Aldo.

Last Friday 24th November the Primary Student Voice led our assembly about healthy lifestyles including healthy eating. They did a wonderful job explaining about washing our hands before eating, getting enough sleep and exercise and generally ensuring we stay well. The presenters spoke very clearly and slowly so that we could all understand and then we finished with a dance that we could all join in with. Well done Primary Student Voice reps and thank you to Ms Saachi and Ms Lili for supporting them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Festival of lights celebrations. It was a lovely afternoon. We were extremely blessed with the weather. The students were able to perform dances and songs relating to Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas. They had also created lots of stalls with fun activities for everyone to try. There was a fantastic atmosphere and with the school grounds and the stall tents lit up there was a certain fairytale magic in the air. A guest appearance from Father Christmas and his elf also added a jolly tone to proceedings. We have had excellent feedback from all the parents who came. We are so glad you enjoyed it.

On Thursday our student took part in the Maths Olympiad. It is run by the Science Olympiad Foundation and is a voluntary competition for our students. The tests I saw this year looked particularly tricky but I am sure our contestants did their best.

Have a great weekend.
