The Primary Section Stories – 07/02/2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
Congratulations to our students who are through to the second round of the Olympiad. They will be taking part in the next competition on the 12th February and this time the competition is online.
The school photos have now been distributed. Please get your orders in as soon as possible.
Our intern Thanya has now completed her time in school and has returned to university. She really enjoyed working with our students in Class 3 and her mentor Ms Jenny felt she did very well. You can listen to what she has experienced at ISBe HERE.
The school vaccinations took place smoothly. Please note that we do need to know in advance if your child is going to be vaccinated because the vaccination team brings exactly the right no. with them. There are no spares.

On the 30th Jan Class 1 took a trip to the new Toy Museum in Mechelen. The new building is under the railway station. It is far more interactive and the Class had a wonderful time. They got to play with toys from the past and present, tested their skills and had a lovely workshop where they learnt about the game knucklebones amongst other things.
This week Class 5 had an exchange visit with the Jesode Hatora Beth Jacob school from Antwerp. Their girls came here to visit and the boys went to visit them there. Cultural exchange is always a good experience for our students.
Last Friday Class 5 presented an excellent assembly related to their IPC unit ‘Investigators’. It was very interactive, requiring a lot of audience participation. The students were very well prepared with a crime scenario (spilt tea on the floor) in place and we the audience helped to work out who committed the crime. We used our detection and investigation skills, carefully led by the Class 5 team to work out who it was. We discovered that we use our investigative skills all the time in real life. Well done Class 5 and Ms G.
On the 17th Feb we will have two more interns starting in Primary. We look forward to working with them.
I wish you a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead.
