The Primary Section Stories – 14/06/2024

Primary Newsletter 14/06/2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

This will be quite a short newsletter from me today as I am currently on a residential trip with classes 3 and 4, but I hope you will read all of the other newsletters until I can give you a full update next time.

Our Primary Sports morning was very enjoyable for all involved. Thank you to the parents who were able to come along. This time we changed the format so that we had nine mixed age teams participating in a range of activities and skills. The students named their team and created their own banner to carry. We were awarding points for the students achievements, how many goals they scored for example, but also for sportsmanship like behaviour. The older students needed to help and support the younger students to take part. Each team carried their own score card. Class 5 students supervised the activities and teachers had an overview. As I said the students all reported what a great time they had so we will continue along this line moving forward. Thank you to Mr Gabor for organising everything.

We also had our Unicef Fundraiser last week. This was another great success. The Primary Student Voice organised this event with their special class 2 helpers. There were lots of activities, food and drinks to participate in and this year there was colour fun with dyed flour going everywhere. Thank you to everyone who sent their children in with funds and contributed to the fundraiser in other ways such as helping with stalls. Congratulations to Ms Saachi for organising it all. At the moment we think we raised around 1400 euros which is amazing. Ms Saachi has written in more detail in our other newsletters.

Early Years went to the farm this week and had a wonderful day. Mrs Harwood has also written an account of this and make sure you look at the photos!

We are now moving towards our report ceremonies, final week activities including the school show and of course parent teacher conferences. Please make sure you keep up to date with the school notifications so that you don’t miss out on anything.

Read more from Class 5 HERE and below more more from the EY classes:

Have a wonderful weekend.
