The Primary Section Stories – 15/12/2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have come to the end of our first very long term. Thank you to everyone for your compliments and gifts to me and the teachers. It makes such a difference when parents show their appreciation for the hard work we all put in.

The teachers have been working hard for weeks to prepare the reports for this term. It has been a pleasure for me to read each one in the whole of primary and get a snapshot of how each student is doing. I am sure you are pleased with the progress they are making in all aspects of school life.

Thank you for attending the Parent/teacher conferences. It is so much easier to discuss things face to face and gives a much clearer picture of how the children are working. We also like our parents to feel connected to the school and this is another opportunity to build that connection.

On Tuesday classes  3 and  4 took a day trip to Urania where they learnt about space and especially the solar system. The presenter was very entertaining and we were able to see the large mirror telescope and watch a presentation in the planetarium among other things. There is some additional information from classes 3 and 4 as part of the newsletter.

On Thursday we had our end of term assembly. Ms Nichols, who has been on maternity leave, returned and played her harp for us and told us some wonderful winter tales and Ms Victoria, who has been covering the role, sang some lovely songs. The theatre was decorated with Christmas lights and it all felt quite magical. We wish Ms Victoria all the best and thank her for her dedication and hard work while Ms Nichols has been away.

Christmas is a time of year when we focus on ‘goodwill to all men’ and women. We do what we can to help others and we enjoy time with our families and friends. I wish you all a very happy Christmas holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back on the 8th January 2024.

Have a great weekend.
