The Primary Section Stories – 31/05/2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who came to our International Day event last Saturday. It was great to see you all and I was very proud of all the effort made by the students and the teachers. I hope you enjoyed the activities at the stall and the performances and had a chance to try out some of the amazing food and drink on offer. The poor weather didn’t stop the festivities.

Yesterday Ms Nichols and the Primary Choir attended a choir festival at St John’s International School in Waterloo. The Primary choir has been quite a new addition to our musical offerings and the children have worked very hard for the last few weeks to be ready. Giving up their lunch time breaks to practise. The festival went very well with some lovely performances from our students and most importantly everyone had a fantastic time.

Today the Primary Student Voice and class 2 did an assembly to tell us all about the fundraiser for Unicef that is happening next week on the 6th June. They sang the song Heal the world beautifully and explained to us about some of the things that will be happening. Importantly there will be colour powder fun and students should wear white clothes so we can see the colour and have a towel and a change of clothes for when it is over. Please send in as much as you can to support this great cause.  Thank you Ms Saachi for organising this with the PSV.

Last but by no means least Ms Lili had her baby late on Wednesday and it was a beautiful baby boy. Congratulations to Ms Lili and her husband. We wish the family joy together.

Have a wonderful weekend.

If you want to know what has been going on in Class 1 read below:

Class 1 IPC Habitat Exhibition

Class 1 had an IPC unit called The Earth: Our Home, during this unit the class learned about the different habitats around the world and what animals live there. They were assigned a project to demonstrate their learning; each child chose a habitat they liked and had to make a diorama representing that. We then had an exhibition and had primary school classes come to visit us where the children presented their diorama and spoke about their chosen habitat. Primary classes voted on their favourite project and the winner won a certificate and a prize. Class 1 really enjoyed this experience and now the projects are on display for the whole school to see them. Well done class 1!
