The Secondary Section Stories – 03/05/2024

To our valued parents and ISBe community members,

Following the culmination of the Easter holiday, ISBe has experienced a surge in activity with the advent of the new term. Notably, last week marked the beginning of two significant examinations – the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. These examinations are a crucial milestone for our students and represent the culmination of months of hard work and dedication on their part, as well as the part of their teachers. We extend our heartfelt wishes to our students for success in their endeavors and are confident that their perseverance and focused preparation will be rewarded.

In addition, we had the privilege of welcoming visitors from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) during this period. NEASC is a globally recognized accrediting agency that promotes excellence in education. Their visit provided an opportunity for our institution to showcase its academic programmes and facilities and to receive valuable feedback on areas for further enhancement. We are grateful for this opportunity and remain committed to offering quality education that prepares our students for success in their future endeavors.

Class 8 recently concluded an exit point on entrepreneurship, where they organized an exhibition to showcase and market their products. This event was a culmination of their studies in entrepreneurship, providing an opportunity for our students to apply their knowledge in a practical setting. The exhibition was a resounding success, with students demonstrating their creativity, innovation, and marketing skills. We are proud of their hard work and commitment to this project and extend our congratulations to them on its successful completion. This exit point is an example of our ISBe’s commitment to providing our students with real-world experiences that prepare them for success in the future.

ISBe organized a friendly match between our classes from 5-7 and the boys’ team of the British Junior Academy of Brussels (BJAB). The match was a delightful experience for all involved, providing an opportunity for our students to engage in friendly competition while also promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

The Phoenix House recently organized the HAIKU House Competition, an exciting event that brought together students from across our school. This competition was an opportunity for our students to showcase their creative skills and explore the art of Haiku poetry. The HAIKU House Competition is an example of our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics and encourages creativity and self-expression.

In addition, we are excited to welcome Daphline, our new intern in English as an Additional Language (EAL) and English. We extend our warmest greetings to her and wish her a productive and fulfilling experience during her time with us.
