The Secondary Section Stories – 17/06

The school year is winding down fast and now we only have two weeks left of school.

The last of our excursions are now complete, C11 French students having visited the Red Star line museum for a private tour and C8 Dutch students visiting the museum and sculpture park in Middleheim. In fact, our C8 students were complimented by the attendants who told Mr Koenraad

“……. that schools visit the museum almost daily but that they had never before welcomed such well-behaved students…… that we literally deserve the golden cup for good behaviour!”

Always good to hear!

Last Friday our students presented their Drama production “Sherlock Holmes and the Nasty Case of Nastiness” at the Aartselaar Cultural Centre. Our school band was also in attendance as the support act!! For anyone who was lucky enough to see the performance, I think you will agree that students and staff did a fantastic job. Congratulations to the directors, Mr Jonathon and Ms Nichols, as well as Mrs Poole on tech support and also a number of other staff members who helps with rehearsals, set –up, supervision and back stage.

Today is the end of assessment for students and for the final two weeks of school, students will participate in an alternate program. We are hosting an MUN conference for two days for all secondary students, showcasing student success in our Awards ceremony, the student council is running a dance  and Sports day will be the last opportunity to get house points before the final tally. The senior school students in classes 9-11 will go on a 5 day trip to the Ardennes and middle school students in classes 6-8 will spend 3 days at Adventure Valley in Durbuy.
