Secondary Newsletter 17/11/2023
To our valued parents and ISBe community members,
After the midterm break, students have seamlessly settled back into their academic routine, demonstrating enthusiasm for learning. The week commenced with a poignant observance of Armistice Day, honoring and reflecting on the sacrifices made during times of conflict. This solemn day provided students with a meaningful opportunity to learn about the historical significance of Armistice Day and to express their respect for those who have served.
Following the Armistice Day rememberance, the week continued with an engaging Science Week, during which students delved into various facets of science and its impact on our lives. They embarked on enlightening field trips, and a Science Fair provided a platform for insightful discussions on UN sustainable goals.
Class 11 exhibited remarkable dedication as they diligently prepared for their Group 4 project. In parallel, Class 6 embarked on an enriching Social Studies trip, broadening their understanding of the world.
A notable highlight of the week was the inaugural Career Talk for students in grades 9 to 12. The presenter, an intercultural psychologist, shared valuable insights into her career, offering students a glimpse into the fascinating world of psychology. This session provided students with a unique opportunity to explore potential career paths and gain valuable knowledge about different professions.
Overall, the post-midterm period has been marked by a blend of solemn remembrance, science exploration, social studies engagement, and career-oriented discussions, contributing to a well-rounded and enriching educational experience for all.
As the end of the month approaches, our Middle Years students are gearing up for their block exams, a crucial period that reflects their dedication and hard work throughout the semester. Additionally, some of our students will be participating in the upcoming Olympiad testing, showcasing their academic prowess and commitment to excellence.
To ensure everyone is well-prepared, a separate email has been sent containing detailed information regarding the materials required for the exams and the corresponding timetable. We encourage students to review this information carefully and reach out if any clarification is needed.
To all our students, we extend our heartfelt best wishes for success during the upcoming assessments. Your efforts and determination have been commendable, and we have full confidence in your abilities.
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the joyous occasion of the Festival of Light. It will be a time for our school community to come together, celebrate, and share in the spirit of warmth and positivity. We look forward to welcoming everyone to this festive event.
Wishing our beloved students the best of luck in their exams and looking forward to celebrating the Festival of Light together!
Warm regards,
