The Secondary Section Stories – 24/01/2025

To our valued parents and ISBe community members,

As we approach the end of January, our team has been working diligently to ensure that students are fully prepared for their upcoming mock exams. Both the IGCSE and IBDP mock exams are set to begin on 27th January and will run for two weeks. We wish all our students the very best of luck during this important period.

A heartfelt thank you to all class 10 parents who attended the recent Zoom call, where we discussed the pathways for Classes 11 and 12. These conversations allowed us to finalize interviews with Class 10 students, where we explored their subject preferences, career aspirations, and future goals.

Additionally, we are proud to highlight some recent events:

  • CAS Exhibition: Some of our Class 12 students held a fundraising presentation in support of an organization called Rural Europe. This initiative showcased their dedication to making a meaningful difference and was a testament to the IB ethos of global-mindedness.
  • Science and Math Week:
    • Class 6 thoroughly enjoyed designing a theme park as part of a STEM project.
    • Class 7 storytelling with equivalent expressions, blending fun with conceptual learning.
    • Class 8 created restaurant menus using simultaneous equations, combining math with creativity.
    • Class 9, 10 and 11  engaged in the Pair Points Game
    • All students from Classes 6-9 enjoyed a wrap of the week with a digital scavenger hunt.
    • The week ended on a high note for Classes 10-12 with a Group 4 presentation by Class 11 science students, providing an engaging conclusion to an enriching week of learning.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the Math and Science teachers for their hard work and dedication in organizing the Science and Math Week. Their efforts made the week both educational and enjoyable for our students.

We are grateful for your ongoing support in fostering such a dynamic and enriching environment for our students.
