The Secondary Section Stories – 28/04/2023

It was great to welcome everyone back after the vacation and now we dive into the last school term for this academic year. Not only are there a lot of things happening this term but we are well and truly in planning mode for the next academic year as well.

House events are in full swing with House Pride day last week. Students are really making an effort to dress in colours and some amazing costumes. Well done to Phoenix house who won the mannequin challenge.

The Unicorns also organized a great event where house teams had to guess song titles, artists and even movie scores to gain points for their house. Congratulations to Phoenix who were again victorious and well done to Jordan and Isabelle who ran the event.

Academically, this is an important time for students as they engage in the final part of their learning program for the year. Middle School students are set to start their last IMYC units and many of our senior students have been study and sitting for exams. C10 students have already begun their IGCSE exams and C12 students begin the IBDP exams next week. All secondary students and staff wish them good luck!

A consortium of European universities were on site last week talking to senior school students about different options for Universities in Europe and also different programs. It is amazing how diverse the course opportunities for students are now, particularly in English and how you can combine passions of study. I predict a bright and exciting future for our students!

I wanted to belated thank parents for supporting their children at the Student Led Conferences on the last day before the holidays. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to talk about their learning and showcase their achievements. We had lots of positive feedback from parents and students who really enjoyed the format.
