The Secondary Section Stories – 31/05/2024

To our valued parents and ISBe community members,

As we approach the end of the academic year, we are delighted to announce that our IBDP students have successfully completed their final exams. Their dedication and hard work throughout this challenging period have been exemplary. Next week marks the end of exams for our IGCSE students, and we wish them the best of luck in their final preparations.

Our recent International Day was a resounding success, bringing together students, parents, and staff to celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our community. The event was filled with vibrant performances, delicious international cuisine, and engaging activities that highlighted the unique traditions and customs of various countries. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day so memorable.

This week has been particularly eventful with our class 11 students participating in an enriching French and Business trip. This excursion provided valuable real-world experience that enhanced their learning beyond the classroom. Additionally, our class 8 students embarked on a profoundly moving Humanities trip to Fort Breendonk and the Mechelen transit camp. This visit provided a poignant and educational experience, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of this significant historical event and its lasting impact on humanity.

Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, we had to postpone our highly anticipated Sports Day. We understand the disappointment this may have caused, but the safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority.

We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements and look forward to celebrating the end of the academic year together. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.

Our Cl 8 Update:

As the school year draws to a close, our Class 8  students have been busier than ever! This month, their primary focus was preparing for the International Day event. Our class took on the exciting challenge of representing Malta, preparing Maltese cuisine, games and creating colourful displays. The students put in tremendous effort to make their Malta stall and it was a wonderful success.

It’s incredible to see how much the class has grown and matured over this year. Their teamwork, creativity, and dedication have been evident in every project and activity they’ve undertaken. As they prepare to transition to the next stage of their academic journey, the IGCSE program, it’s clear that they are ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.

The end of middle school is a bittersweet moment. While we look forward to celebrating their achievements and the exciting future that awaits them, we also reflect on the memorable moments and the incredible progress each student has made. Let’s continue to support and encourage them as they embark on this new chapter.
