We are the stories that we weave

On Wednesday January 11 and Thursday January 12, we had the pleasure to welcome Patrick Ryan, our favorite storyteller. Mr. Ryan travels through the UK, Europe, and the US delivering lectures and conducting workshops with students, and he has been doing this for over 40 years. Mr. Ryan has been working with our students for quite a few years now, but during Covid lockdowns, we lost the opportunity to hear him tell us stories and inspire us to tell our own. Now, the good times are back! This year, he worked with Senior School students, connecting his workshop theme to one of the he Middle School’s IMYC themes of “Creativity.” IGCSE students had their tailored workshop focus on Shakespeare and Othello, the cohorts’ IGCSE set drama text. For a day and a half, the school’s theater was buzzing with stories and storytelling strategies, and exercises in imagination. We look forward to welcoming him next school year when he will dedicate his time and talent to working with Primary School students.
