C3 have had a fabulous half term, they have demonstrated a remarkable sense of curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
One of the highlights of this half-term was the incredible assembly that the students in class 3 put together. It centred around the theme of ´light´ and it was a tremendous success. They showcased their curiosity by investigating and exploring the topic before demonstrating their understanding through a presentation and a puppet show. Their teamwork and collaboration were really evident and wonderful to watch.
Our IPC Brainwave topic involved the children exploring the world of colours. Our young artists and scientists worked together to research which materials would be most suitable to create a colour wheel and then they created their own wheel using their preferred material. Through this project, students learned about primary, secondary, and tertiary colours. They blended colours, experimented, and observed the results, fostering their creativity whilst at the same time understanding the importance of resilience and perseverance.
In maths, we have been focusing on place value as well as addition and subtraction. The students have been learning about the structure of numbers which has helped them to answer questions involving 3 digits by 3 digits. In English, we have been exploring creative writing, creating interesting character and setting descriptions.
Currently our IPC topic is taking us on a journey through space, studying the earth, the sun and the moon. I am really proud of the progress made this half term and I can’t wait to see what the next half term brings.
And here are some insights into Class 3 Dutch class
Class 3 has settled in very well and I am getting to know each individual student better! They have been learning all about the animals in Dutch and have been practising how to conjugate the verb ‘hebben’ (to have), using all the personal pronouns. They enjoyed singing and dancing to the animal song ‘De dieren in de dierentuin zijn los!’, which is a song about animals who have escaped the zoo. Using music is always a great way to learn different words! It was a pleasure seeing their enthusiasm towards this activity. Revision is key to success when learning another language. The more we practise, the better we will remember it. Goed zo, klas drie. Keep it up!
