Primary Newsletter – 12/06/2026

Dear Parents,

International Day filled me with pride again this year. Our students and teachers went all out to entertain and inform you all. Thank you to parents who helped contribute to the stalls and those who took a turn running them. It was a very successful day. We hope you all enjoyed it.

The primary students had a wonderful time at the Primary Sports morning, also known as the Primary Olympics. The day before they met in their multi-age teams, then designed and made their banners. They carried them proudly into the sports hall where the activities took place this year. A big thank you to Mr Gabor who organised the event and was able to make the changes when the awful weather necessitated a change to the usual outside activities. Thank you too to the teachers who ran the activities and supported the students and to the parents who were able to attend.

Once again the weather impacted on our planned PSV Colour Run. The weather was too cold and wet for it to be fun so we just had our planned bake sale instead. A big thank you to those families who sent in cakes and cup cakes for the bakesale. Your hard work was really appreciated. The bake sale on its own raised 221 euros. The colour run itself has been rescheduled for this Wednesday 17th June. The weather is supposed to be great and students can buy extra coloured powder for 1 euro, drinks for 1 euro and they can bring in water pistols if they have them. We hope they will do lots of laps and raise the money for the tables and bouncy castle that the Primary Student Voice hopes to buy..

On June 5th Class 5 had their final trip of the year and enjoyed an active and fun filled day, with plenty of adventure and memories made.

The Early Years classes had a very successful visit to the farm. They saw a range of animals and learned a little about their care, got to ride a pony and drive a tractor.  A great learning experience for our youngest students!

Finally our class 3 and 4 students had their residential trip to Sporta last week. 3 days and 2 nights undertaking outdoor and adventurous activities together with unusual sporting activities such as go karting, laser tag and using an airtrack. The students were a credit to the school and our caring staff supported them through what is for many is a first time away from home. Ndependence is a big part of the experience. A big thank you to Ms Jenny, Ms Louise, Ms Mac and Mr Gabor for escorting the students on the trip.

This year I was lucky enough to attend the grade 12 graduation ceremony. I must say how impressed I was with our students. The final product of an ISBe education is something we can all be very proud of. Congratulations to the graduating class of 2026.

All the best for a wonderful week ahead.

Warm regards,
