Secondary Newsletter 08/05/2026

To our valued parents and ISBe community members,

Over the past weeks, our students have had the opportunity to participate in a range of exciting events that showcased teamwork, determination, creativity, and school spirit. We would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank everyone involved in making these experiences so meaningful.

A special thank you goes to Koenraad for organising our participation in the Antwerp Run. We would also like to congratulate and thank all of the students who took part in the event for their enthusiasm, perseverance, and positive spirit throughout the day. Our sincere appreciation also extends to the staff members and parents who supported and encouraged our students during the event. Your involvement and encouragement helped make the experience both enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.

We would also like to thank Milen and Ruben for accompanying our students to the Racing Car event. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a competitive environment. Several teams participated in the event, and we are especially proud that our school was the only team competing in the under-16 category. We are delighted to share that our school has qualified to participate in the final event on the 24th of May, and we wish our students every success as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.

Our gratitude also goes to Mrs Smilkstein and the House Committee for organising the Dragon events. The activities brought great energy and excitement to the school, and students thoroughly enjoyed participating. Events such as these continue to strengthen house spirit, collaboration, and the sense of belonging within our school community.

We were also pleased to welcome Sharon West from ICA, who visited our school to learn more about our IMYC programme. During her visit, she met with teachers, visited classrooms, and observed teaching and learning across the secondary section. It was a valuable opportunity to showcase the engaging learning experiences taking place within our school and to reflect on the continued growth and development of our IMYC programme.

Finally, thank you to Tamara for organising the Business Workshop for our Class 11 students in collaboration with the University of Hult. The workshop provided students with valuable insight into the world of business and higher education, encouraging them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and explore future opportunities.

These experiences continue to highlight the strength of our school community and the commitment of our staff, students, and parents in creating meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Tala Issa
