Primary Newsletter – 29/05/2026
Dear Parents,
This is a very busy time of year as we prepare for the International day tomorrow. As a mandatory event we look forward to seeing everyone there and hope everyone has a lovely time.
Last week Classes 1 and 2 took a trip to PIME in Lier to support their IPC learning on habitats. It was quite a damp day but spirits were cheerful and the students learned a lot to support the class units. They were able to talk to me about all of their observations and all they had learned when they returned. Thank you to their class teachers for organising the visit.
This week the Early Years and Class 3 visited De Schorre for the ‘barefoot walk’ experience. This is where the students take off their socks and shoes and walk through different materials for a range of sensory experiences. Some of the children are a little bit wary but it is very important for students to literally be in touch with nature and make those essential connections. The students were also able to explore other areas of the park to build their understanding of the world around them.
On the 27th May Ms Nichols took the Primary School Choir (a range of children from various classes) to participate in the Primary Heads Leadership Group choir festival at St Johns school in Waterloo. They had a really nice time and the performances were lovely. Each school prepared a song of their own to perform and then all of the schools performed 4 songs together. They rehearsed in the morning then the concert took place in the afternoon. There was a real spirit of community among the participants. Well done to everyone who took part.
Today students from classes 4 and 5 are taking part in the Primary Heads Leadership Group football tournament at Bogaerts School. We have a splendid mixed gender team and we hope they will do well. We look forward to hearing more about it when they return. Thank you to Mr Gabor for organising our part in the event. Hot off the press: our team competed for 3rd place!
Don’t forget International day tomorrow. We also have the Primary Sports Morning on 2nd June and the Primary Student Voice Colour Run on 3rd June. Please keep an eye out for further information about these events.
All the best for a wonderful week ahead.
Warm regards,
